A blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Mourvedre, the 2009 Basilisk Shiraz Mourvedre was aged in French oak for 12 months, 60% new. Very deep purple-black colored, it presents notes of black plums, mulberries and warm blueberries with supporting notes of licorice, cinnamon stick and dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied, it offers crisp acid and a medium to firm level of fine grained tannins in the mouth, with generous berry and spice flavors and a long finish. Drink it now to 2015+. McPherson does not currently have a USA importer.
