LAST TASTED 5/93
The impressive saturated plum/dark ruby color suggests considerable extraction and intensity. The wine's bouquet consists primarily of cassis aromas, with hints of herbs, olives, and spices. Full-bodied and still frightfully tannic, but also charged with fruit, this big wine appears somewhat muddled and slightly out of balance. If it ever comes together it will be an admirable effort. It is clearly not as sure a bet as the great 1974 Mayacamas.
