An unusually dark, ripe Sagemoor, which seems to have benefited from the 1996 freeze that dramatically reduced crop levels. The nose has the intense, concentrated berry aroma of a good Zinfandel; there’s just a bit of heat in the finish. Still young and tight, but silky smooth and ripe right through the stylish, tannic finish.——P.G.(4/1/2000)—— 89
