29 year old vines have contributed the majority of fruit to this single vineyard wine which includes 5 separate Pinot Noir clones. Grapes hand picked March 13. After 5 days of cold maceration, whole berries and bunches were fermented to dryness in open fermenters. Matured in new and used French oak barriques for 10 months. Bottled 4th February 2013. Unfined and unfiltered.
Initially brooding, the wine opens and blossoms with a few swirls in the glass displaying classical Pinot characters of dark cherries, spice, and perfume with earthy and gamey notes. Silky smooth texture, a fine tannic structure, great length and balanced natural acidity complete the Pinot experience.
