The 2021 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard comes from a single block of 667 clone vines and is one of the most impressive Pinot expressions I've encountered from the 2021 vintage in the Willamette Valley so far. Medium ruby-purple, it has intense, singular and pure aromatics: cranberry, rhubarb and blueberry are accented by fine touches of conifer, aniseed, iron and pipe tobacco, and it continues to shift and change as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is powerful, offering highly concentrated, detailed fruit and a support of abundant, powdery tannins. It has seamless, energetic acidity and haunting streaks of spice and earth that fan across the tremendously long finish. It's difficult to put this wine down, although it will reward drinkers patient enough to tuck it away in the cellar.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard comes from mostly Dijon clone vines planted in 1999. It has lovely scents of blood orange, blueberries, tea leaves and cinnamon. The palate offers finely detailed flavors and an abundance of silty tannins, finishing with fantastic length and layers.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard opens with notes of tar and turned earth over black cherries, blackcurrants, crushed violets, pipe tobacco, graphite, aniseed and baking spice. It’s medium-bodied and silky with intense, spice-laced fruits, a sturdy frame and juicy acidity to refresh the very long, layered finish.

From vines planted in 1999, the pale to medium ruby-purple colored 2016 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard has a lovely nose of lilacs and violets over a core of warm black cherries and berries, blueberry pie and bramble berry preserves notions with touches of sliced prosciutto, black pepper and crushed rock. Medium-bodied, it fills the mouth with perfumed warm earth and black fruits flavors, with beautiful grainy tannins and great freshness lifting the long finish. 450 cases produced.

Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard opens with beautiful floral notes of roses and violets with red currants, oolong tea, cinnamon stick and underbrush in the background. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers ripe, concentrated red berry and savory flavor layers with a firm, grainy backbone and good length.
