The new releases include one white wine, the 2010 Don David Torrontes. It is unusual for the fact that 10% of the wine was aged in American oak barriques for 3 months and was put through malolactic fermentation. It is an attractive style of Torrontes with an enticing nose of jasmine, peach, mango, and pineapple, dry flavors, plenty of body, and a savory, lengthy finish. Medium straw color; lemon, peach, and tropical aromas, savory, ripe, nicely balanced.

Slightly mealy smelling on the nose, which is the complete opposite of a palate that is high in spiky acidity. Flavors of citrus and lime are pointed and a little sharp, while there’s some burn and pith to the finish. Good but somewhat aggressive.——M.S.(11/1/2010)—— 86
