The 2007 Idrias Abiego, a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 20% Tempranillo, was aged for 6 months in new oak. Dark ruby colored, it yields a pleasant perfume of spice box, cassis, violets, and black currant. Racy and elegant on the palate, it has ample spicy fruit, good balance, and a silky finish. This excellent value can be enjoyed over the next 6 years.
Bodegas Sierra de Guara has 132 acres of Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot under cultivation in Somontano.
