Although Monastrell has been the principal variety planted, the 2004 Idrias Abiego is a blend of 40% Tempranillo, 40% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is light ruby in color with a fruity, almost bubble gum, perfume reminiscent of (good quality) Beaujolais. The forward fruit is ripe, crunchy and ideal for a picnic.
