A tight and chalky Vino Nobile Riserva here that shows a quiet yet incisive oyster-shell minerality to the savory, orangey fruit, laurel, nutmeg and berries. More depth and structure than the Vino Nobile bottling with crumbled mineral tannins that melt into a long yet understated finish. Grippy as an iron claw but nothing drying here. The impressive clarity and austerity makes you want to come back to it to finish a bottle. Drinkable now, but will keep very well in the next 10-12 years.

Though taut and dense, there's a spicy quality to this red, along with a mineral underpinning that punctuates the cherry, black currant, cedar, iron and tobacco flavors. Reveals tannins that are still a bit gruff now, yet the long aftertaste signals this red's potential.
