A profound young Pauillac that numbers among the very best wines of the vintage, the 2022 Latour unwinds in the glass with notions of cassis, wild berries and plums mingled with notions of walnuts, burning embers, loamy soil and violets. Full-bodied, deep and layered, it's concentrated and multidimensional, with beautifully refined tannins, terrific tension and a seamless, harmonious profile. Any stressed vines were harvested separately and relegated to the estate's generic wine, and extraction was gentle this year. The 2022 is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and the balance Petit Verdot.

A serious, uncompromising wine that will surely number among the stars of the vintage, the 2021 Latour unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, wild plums, pencil shavings, loamy soil and violets. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and tightly wound, with a tensile, structured profile thanks to lively acids and a chassis of rich, powdery tannin. Long and penetrating, this is a prodigious young Latour that looks to be the most introverted as well as potentially the longest-lived of the first growths.

The 2020 Latour is a terrific young wine, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berries and cassis mingled with charcoal, pencil shavings, walnuts and violets. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with a sweet, layered core of fruit framed by powdery tannins, it's a muscular, structured wine of huge depth and presence. A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot that attained 13.2% alcohol, it will surely emerge as one of the most long-lived wines of the vintage.
