This wine, from a vineyard of the same name, is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, produced from low yields of 25 hectoliters per hectare. There are 1,000 cases of this wine, which achieved nearly 14% natural alcohol. It displays a floral, orchid/lilac-scented nose, intertwined with black cherry fruit and earthy smells. This cuvee was kept in small, old barrels. The wine reveals dusty tannin in the finish, as well as admirable power, and that Provencal herb, garrigue, and cherry-dominated character. This intriguing, reasonably-priced, mouthfilling Cotes de Ventoux should drink well for 4-5 years. This property has been producing better and better wines, thus I am pleased to see the impressive quality of this cuvee.Importer: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, New York, NY; tel.
