Rather light in hue, but with charming notes of roses, herbal tea and strawberries, the full-bodied 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape le Traversier starts strong but turns tannic and hard on the finish. Give this mostly tank-aged blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% each Cinsault, Counoise and Mourvèdre a couple of years in the cellar and drink it by 2030, as it's unclear if it has the balance to age much beyond that.

The certified organic and biodynamic 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape le Traversier features seductive aromas of tea, roses, garrigue, raspberries and cherries. While not overly concentrated, it's medium to full-bodied and silky in texture, with a degree of elegance, complexity and length on the finish that recalls the excellent 2016.

The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape le Traversier is on the light side of the color spectrum, with gentle cherry notes and hints of green peppercorns. A blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% each Cinsault, Counoise and Mourvèdre, it's full-bodied and silky-textured but not especially concentrated or complex. Drink it over the next 6-7 years.

The charming, supple, easy-drinking 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape le Traversier is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% each Cinsault, Counoise and Mourvèdre, all aged in concrete. Flowering garrigue notes and hints of cracked pepper accent cherry fruit on the nose and palate of this full-bodied wine. It's creamy and supple but not that concentrated or rich, so drink it over the next 6-7 years.

The reds start with the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape le Traversier and it’s a charming, medium-bodied, balanced 2015 that offers lots of red fruits (strawberries, raspberries), ground herbs and dried herbs.
