The 1999 Pouilly-Fuisse Vigne Blanche (first bottling) offers stone and white fruit aromas. This ample, broad, pure, muscular, rich, yet crystalline wine is medium to full-bodied and satin-textured. Flint, stones, over-ripe pears, and apples can be found throughout this wine's personality. The Vigne Blanche was produced in two cuvees as one is still finishing its alcoholic fermentation. (In October, 3.5 grams of residual sugar per liter remained in the second cuvee.) Drink it over the course of the next 10 years.
