The 2021 Riesling Red Stone offers a clear, ripe, lush and aromatic bouquet with ripe and intense Riesling aromas intertwined with flinty stone notes and a hint of gooseberries, limes and herbal notes. Medium-bodied, round and savory on the palate, with fine acidity, this is a charmingly fruity, partly creamy Riesling that also has fresh and crisp fruit aromas. It's not really seamless but a mouthful of easygoing Riesling that can also be attractive for Sauvignon fans. 11.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.

Made from purchased grapes, the 2019 Riesling Red Stone opens with a reductive, very clear and upfront fruity bouquet of ripe Riesling intertwined with the typical notes of the red, clayish slate soils of the red slope along the Rhine River. This is a very delicate and straight, pure and Mosel-like Riesling in the off-dry style. It is very refreshing and elegant, a classic if you so will, that was bottled with a moderate 12% alcohol and some fruit-supporting grams of residual sugar. A great drinking pleasure. Zesty and elegant, emphasizing the texture and minerally elements, but still showing citrus and orchard fruit flavors. The firm core of acidity keeps everything intact, as this finishes with blood orange and white pepper notes.
