A blend of 56% Grenache, 34% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, all raised in concrete tank, the 2016 Vacqueyras Signature looks set to easily surpass the 2015 version. It's medium to full-bodied, not quite as concentrated and voluptuous as the les Genestes bottling but still attractively ripe and fruity, with hints of black pepper, garrigue and dark chocolate to lend interest. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.

While the 2015 Vacqueyras Cuvee Signature is a medium to full-bodied wine with some attractive notes of cherries and stone fruit, there's also an earthy undercurrent, black olive notes and firm tannins on the finish.

I believe the only cuvee made in the vintage, the 2014 Vacqueyras Cuvee Signature is a supple, medium-bodied and seamless beauty that offers lots of Bing cherry, raspberry, dried flowers and spice. It’s as fine and elegant as they come and is perfect for drinking over the coming 5-6 years.

There’s just under 2,000 cases of the 2013 Vacqueyras Cuvee Signature and this medium to full-bodied, voluptuous, sexy blend of 42% Grenache, 41% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre offers classic notes of saddle leather, peppery spice, cured meats and sweet black currants on the nose. A classic southern Rh?ne that reminiscent of strolling through a southern Rh?ne Street market, it has tons of charm and will have upwards of a decade of longevity.

The 2012 Vacqueyras Cuvee Signature is a smoking Southern Rh?ne that’s overflowing with Proven?al character. A blend of 55% Grenache, 39% Syrah and the balance Mourvèdre, it dishes up tons of plum, black raspberry, garrigue and spice to go with a full-bodied, decadent style on the palate. Mouth filling, voluptuous and just hard to resist, it’s worth a multi-bottle purchase and should drink nicely for 4-5 years.
