Another of the highlights chez Pillot is the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers, a lovely wine evocative of crisp orchard fruit, white peach, dried flowers and oatmeal. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, with fine tension for the vintage and a precise, mineral finish. As I've observed before, Pillot has almost a hectare of vines in this climat, and it's one of his most consistent cuvées.
