The peachy and aromatic 2020 Allende Nature is a red from Tempranillo that has 13.5% alcohol and was produced without any added sulfites. The grapes were destemmed but not crushed and fermented at 28 degrees Celsius during 16 days followed by malolactic in barrel and five months of aging in those barrels. It has some lactic and spicy notes, reminiscences of cereals and a juicy and soft palate with a mellow mouthfeel. 2,500 bottles were filled in June 2021.

The no-sulfur-added 2019 Allende Nature is clean, soft and mellow, a pure Tempranillo from the vineyard Cuesta de Valpierre. It fermented with uncrushed grapes and indigenous yeasts and matured in American oak barrels for five months. It has 13% alcohol and integrated acidity. This is young and primary, fruit driven, with contained ripeness but juicy fruit. It's clean and precise. It's medium-bodied and displays the textbook fine-grained chalky tannins from the limestone soils. 2,500 bottles were filled in May 2020.

I find the nose of the 2016 Allende Nature to be really attractive, clean and fruit-driven with contained ripeness and a medium-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins. It's quite aromatic and floral and transmits a sense of harmony. Very good showing. It feels quite different from my previous tasting; it has evolved positively. 2,500 bottles were filled in April 2018.

There is one new red here, a red produced and bottled without any added sulfur. It's called 2015 Allende Nature and it's the only wine I know to wear a best-before date: the producer does not guarantee the wine after that date, in this case May 2017. It's pure Tempranillo from a single vineyard in Briones, fermented in plastic bins and matured in American oak barrels for a period of five months. There are some peachy notes, very fruit-driven, very unlike 'natural' wines. This is a fruit-forward, juicy red where the preservatives are acidity, tannin and alcohol; so he looked for a plot with marked tannins and marked acidity because it's north facing, and it's a slope that achieves good ripeness and potential high alcohol. Perhaps the voluptuousness of the wine comes from the American oak. It's clean with none of the problems many unsulfured wines show. This has more of a commercial profile, it won't please the fans of 'natural' wines; this has bright, upfront fruit and with time in the glass, it shows the effect of the oak more. 1,400 bottles were filled in April 2016.
