The finest Pinot Noir I have tasted from Foley is the potentially outstanding 2000 Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyard. The wine reveals top-notch potential, exhibiting an array of blackberry and cherry fruit, beautifully integrated toasty oak, adequate acidity for definition, and a layered, textured, concentrated mid-palate as well as finish. It should drink well for 7-8 years. I suspect acid freaks will rate this wine several points higher, as elevated acidity is de rigeur. That said, I enjoyed the purity and quality of its fruit, as well as the fact that it provides a refreshing taste.Tel. (805) 688-8554
