A blend of two-thirds Viognier and one-third Roussanne and coming from the Crawford vineyard in Yakima, the 2019 BlackSmith Blanc opens with a floral nose of peach blossom essence, sweet citrus and a powdery, dusty minerality in the glass. Medium-bodied, the wine has a balanced structure and notes of tropical fruits, stone fruit, pineapple husk, peach pit and mandarin orange on the palate, ending with a bright, clean and uncomplicated finish. Just under 6,000 bottles were produced.

A blend of 58% Viognier and 42% Roussanne, the 2018 BlackSmith Blanc is framed by bright fragrance and floral expressions with notions of peach skin, apple peel and citrus custard with a mineral tension to the nose. Full-bodied, the palate is generous, clean and correct, showcasing flavors of stone fruits and waxy flowers, with a dusty lemony finish. The wine lingers long with persistence and focus. 754 cases produced. This shows an excellent value for the price. I am pleasantly surprised. Yum!
