Pale ruby-purple, the 2018 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 features scents of red cherries, potpourri, iodine and leather. The medium-bodied palate has delicate fruits, a chalky texture, bright freshness and appealing Angostura-like spices defining finish.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and nose of dried cherries, blueberries, forest floor, blackberries and hints of dried herbs and charcuterie. It's light to medium-bodied with earthy fruits, very juicy acidity and soft, grainy tannins, finishing earthy.

The 2015 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 is quite Burgundian in profile, wafting from the glass with aromas of wild berries, grilled game bird, spice and rich soil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, sappy and savory, with fine tannins and a penetrating, sapid finish. 800 cases were produced.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 is another terrific wine, yet it lacks a touch of the charm and elegance of the other Pinot Noirs here. Saddle leather, wild herbs, black cherries and framboise all emerge from this rich, structured, even tannic Pinot Noir that will benefit from short term cellaring. Like the other Pinots here, it was whole berry, destemmed and spent 17 months in 40% new French oak.

Its deep ruby color is followed by sensational notes of sweet cherries, black raspberries, crushed flowers and a touch of licorice.
