Packaged in a transparent, screwcap bottle, the Pighin 2019 Friuli Pinot Grigio washes down chips and guacamole without a care in the world. The wine hits all the selling points of a white wine of this broad informality, made with a versatile and easy grape. There is freshness, leanness and a basic bouquet with citrus, honeydew melon and pear. The results are a bit watered down and oversimplified, but the wine hardly needs to aspire to more, especially at this low price.
