The 2010 Weissburgunder fleshes out beautifully on the palate with expressive fruit. Lemon, flowers and smoke are some of the many notes that flow from this fleshy, beautifully delineated Pinot Blanc. Once again, this is a terrific showing from Niedrist. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. I have long been a fan of Niedrist’s Lagrein, but this year I was impressed with the entire range. These gorgeous wines deserve serious attention. Niedrist’s 2007 Weissburgunder (Pinot Bianco) is made in a focused, mineral-driven style. Pretty notes of peaches, spices, flowers and smoke emerge from this gorgeous, beautifully-crafted white.
