Made with 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo and 10% Colorino, the Il Molino di Grace 2018 Gratius is punchy and bright. This wine fits neatly into the themes presented by the estate portfolio that prioritize freshness and verticality. Gratius shows medium fruit weight with fine-grain tannins. Dark fruit, plum and dried cherry give this wine a bigger sense of depth and width. Production this vintage is limited to 5,000 bottles.

A blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino, the Il Molino di Grace 2016 Gratius (made with organic fruit) is a rich and deeply concentrated blend that relies on ripe fruit from a classic vintage and generous oak aging to form both the intensity of the bouquet and the depth of the mouthfeel. After 12 months in new French oak and tonneaux, the dark cherry and blackcurrant notes yield to spice, toast and tar. This is a no-brainer steak wine.

The Il Molino di Grace 2011 Gratius (95% Sangiovese with 5% Colorino and Canaiolo) has taken a considerable jump forward in quality compared to past vintages. This is a steady and true expression of Tuscany with tonic fruit flavors of cherry and blackberry followed by moist earth and spice. In the mouth, the wine shows richness and a supple character. Only 5,000 bottles are made.

The 2005 Gratius is 100% Sangiovese from the oldest vines on the property. Here the oak completely overpowers the fruit, resulting in a monolithic, one-dimensional wine. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Il Molino di Grace is one of the most perplexing wineries in Chianti Classico.
