The 2019 Shiraz is generously fruited, plush and pillowy, with grippy, almost sticky tannins through the middle palate and finish. The oak is cleverly hidden within the folds of fruit, but the tannins do what overenthusiastic oak can: they serve to swamp the fruit and inhibit the flow through the finish.

This winery was founded in the late 1990s. Kangarilla relates to the village for which the road was named and is an Aboriginal name referencing the natural resources of the area. This is soaked in ripe damsons, plums and chocolate, with beautiful, velvety tannins. Alc: 14.5%. 17pts/20 (90pts/100)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Shiraz gives some sweaty / medicinal notes over a core of blackberry, black cherry and pepper. Medium to full bodied, the palate provides just enough fruit with a medium level of chewy tannins, crisp acid and a long earthy finish. Drink this one now through 2015.
