A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre and 3% Cinsault from mainly sandy sites, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape aged in tank (both stainless steel and concrete). Dark and brooding, it boasts notes of black olive and roasted meat, plus cola, espresso and dried spices. Full-bodied and velvety, it has some chewy tannins on the finish, so give it a couple of years in the cellar.
