The La Valentina 2016 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an easy and versatile wine, with simple fruit aromas followed by light touches of scorched earth, licorice and light hints of tobacco. Some 80% of the wine ages in stainless steel, and the rest goes into neutral barrique and botte grande. Pair it with a simple beef-and-pork ragù over spaghetti.
