The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate bursts from the glass with blackberries, cassis, grilled herbs, smoke and licorice, all of which are beautifully woven together. This ripe juicy Cabernet presents an exotic, super-ripe profile balanced by a firm sense of structure. Not a bad combination, to say the least. Freshly cut flowers, mint and licorice are layered into the energetic, vibrant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (80% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest other Bordeaux varietals) possesses sweet black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with notions of damp earth, tar, and spring flowers. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate includes small quantities of Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Revealing a deep ruby/purple color, a big, intense, masculine mouthfeel, and plenty of power and tannin, it needs time to round into an accessible wine, but it shows good balance, structure, and purity.
