The two best cuvees included the 2005 Domaine de la Pierre Jean Reynaud, which is an estate wine bottled at the cooperative. The wine displays raspberry and cherry notes, has a Burgundian flowery, spicy nose, sweet round flavors, and good depth and ripeness. It is soft for a 2005 and best drunk in its first 5-7 years of life.
This huge cooperative/negociant located just adjacent to the Autoroute du Soleil, almost parallel to the estate of Beaucastel on the other side of the Autoroute, seems to have upgraded quality considerably in the last several years. Not that these are profound Provencal wines, but they certainly show much more character and quality than in the past.
No known American importer.
