Another terrific effort from the local cooperative cellar, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine le Mourre is all Grenache, fermented in stainless steel and aged in concrete. It boasts gorgeous floral aromas backed by a mix of cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple, creamy and lush, offering soaring flavors without massiveness and finishing long and silky.

One of several domaine wines normally produced by this cave cooperative, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine le Mourre is an attractive, medium to full-bodied wine that should drink well for up to a decade. This 100% Grenache cuvée isn't very dark or saturated in color, but it features reasonably intense aromas of cherries, leather, dark chocolate and dried spices, while the tannins are ripe and supple, leaving a softly dusty impression behind on the lengthy finish.

All Grenache, raised in concrete, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine le Mourre delivers notes of strawberries, garrigue and cherries. It's full-bodied but silky and delicate. I love this fresh, vibrant style, although some will no doubt quibble about a certain lack of heft or richness.

While this was my top-rated cuvée from the cave cooperative last vintage, this year's edition (100% Grenache, aged in concrete) is firmly tannic and even a bit edgy. The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine le Mourre is full-bodied and features attractive cherry fruit and hints of cracked pepper, then clamps down on the finish.

The pure-Grenache 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine Le Mourre was my favorite of the Cellier des Princes releases. Vinified in steel and matured in concrete, it reveals attractive notes of ripe cherries and stone fruit and hints of almond paste. It's full-bodied and supple, turning silky on the long, crisp finish. It should drink well for up to 10 years.
