The 2008 Riesling Reserve smells slightly yeasty, as well as of fresh lemon and lime, ripe peach, red raspberry, and ginger. Possessed of generous fruit and spice with admirable cut and refreshment, this wine's sheer succulence and palate-cleansing finish are nicely reinforced by a subtle hint of sweetness well-suited to its admirably efficacious, ripe acidity. It should prove delightful for at least the next 3-4 years. Perfumy and light-bodied, with plenty of white flowers, honey and beeswax. The dry palate turns almost sharp at the end, pointing to an affinity with oysters. This wine has neither the charm of youthful fruit nor the complexity of maturity; better to give it a few years age. ——W.E.(6/1/2010)—— 86
