The 2008 Riesling Reserve smells slightly yeasty, as well as of fresh lemon and lime, ripe peach, red raspberry, and ginger. Possessed of generous fruit and spice with admirable cut and refreshment, this wine's sheer succulence and palate-cleansing finish are nicely reinforced by a subtle hint of sweetness well-suited to its admirably efficacious, ripe acidity. It should prove delightful for at least the next 3-4 years. As a group, Albrecht's wines were delightfully user-friendly, although some of them - like so many wines of Alsace nowadays -lacked the concentration or distinctiveness to render them excellent values, given starting prices of close to $20.Importer: Pasternak Wine Imports, Harrison, NY; tel.
