The 2009 Pago de Breda has been aging in new French oak and is likely to be in bottle by time of publication (as are the other cuvees). Earthy minerals, toasty oak, spice box, espresso, and blackberry aromas lead to a smooth-textured, rich, layered, easygoing wine that will deliver pleasure over the next 6-8 years. Majuelos de Espana, headed by Felipe Alvarez, is a negociant group whose grape growers and winemakers are devoted to recovering old Majuelos (Vineyards) across Spain. Majuelos de Espana’s offerings from Ribera del Duero are all barrel samples of 100% Tinta Fine (Tempranillo) from the great 2009 vintage.Importer: Felipe Alvarez, Majuelos de Espana, www.majuelos.com
