Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Domaine Marchand-Tawse has a closed nose, though it opens with time, offering a mixture of red and black fruit; although I felt there might be just a little cork taint here. The palate is balanced but with a fair amount of new oak dominating the entry. It feels harmonious and the acidity is well judged, however, it is missing some sustain towards the finish that I thought it might have.
