Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta’s 2005 Campeador is a blend of 60% Garnacha and 40% Tempranillo aged for 16 months in American oak. Dark ruby red in color, it surrenders a restrained nose of cedar, cinnamon, tobacco, violets, and black cherry. This leads to a smooth-textured, laid-back, elegant wine in need of more depth and concentration. Drink this superficial offering over the next 4-5 years.
