The VALE DA TORRE “BIN 717” is straightforward, but attractive in its price range. Like the other reds from this producer, it has a certain lushness, attractive texture and nice fruit, while retaining an elegant presentation. It is marred by what seem to be some modest reductive aromas. There are some supporting tannins, and they give the wine some life and verve, keeping it from just being a flabby, fruit bomb, although forward fruit is certainly its best feature. Drink now—2009. You may see EBORAE VITIS E VINUS on some of the labels for this wine, as on the Dolium. That was a prior company, as I understand it. All of the wines should have Paulo Laureano Vinus as producer eventually, although the proprietary names like “Dolium” are what you will see in big letters on the front no matter what.Importer: Aidil Wines & Liquors, a division of Olde World Imports, Inc., Rahway, NJ; tel.
