The 2002 Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre (48%, 35%, and 17% respectively) tastes similar to a New World Cotes du Rhone. Somewhat lean and tart, but pleasant, it offers up notes of dusty red cherries intermixed with herbs de Provence and pepper. It needs to be consumed over the next 12-18 months.
