The 2002 Syrah Unti Vineyards’ peppery, spicy, earthy nose reveals hints of loamy soil as well as red and black fruits. Well-endowed, but monolithic in the mouth, with hard tannin and an austere, angular finish, whether it will totally integrate its rustic tannin remains to be seen. It should last for 7-8 years.
