The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Reserve is a blend of 94.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a fair bit of coaxing to unlock notions of warm plums, cassis and mulberries, plus hints of cedar chest, charcuterie and black olives. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, it is chock-full of bright, black fruits with a cedary undercurrent and firm, grainy tannins, finishing with great length.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Reserve is youthfully mute and sluggish to begin, slowly offering baked cassis, prunes, blueberry preserves and sautéed herbs notes with touches of tobacco leaf and tilled soil plus a waft of cedar. The palate is delicately played and medium-bodied with tightly knit flavors and firm, rugged tannins, finishing a little herbal and astringent.

A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Reserve opens with beautifully fragrant kirsch, wilted roses, candied violets and dried Provence herbs notes over a core of wild blueberries, red and black currants and mulberries plus wafts of tobacco leaf and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with perfumed, crunchy black fruits framed by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and finishes long and earthy.

Composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon Reserve features a deep garnet-purple color and wonderfully expressive nose of crème de cassis, preserved plums and black forest cake with hints of cigar boxes, aniseed, dark chocolate and forest floor. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated in the mouth, the ripe, opulent black fruit is well supported by velvety tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and spicy.
