Awesome. At six years old, the 2016 Museum Release Marsanne has picked up spiced peach, curry leaves, brine, cold tea, honeysuckle, buttered toast, quince paste and brine. It is delicious—and a really important wine to re-release back onto the market in order to indicate the aging potential of this iconic wine. Drink or hold (at least, drinking it will satisfy your curiosity, and on that basis I encourage it).

The 2010 Museum Release Marsanne has a pale gold color and notes of salted almonds, straw, Marmite toast and lemon curd with a touch of apple pie. Light-bodied, lively, elegant and dry, it delivers a great intensity of savory toast and nut notes with a long, mineral and lemongrass-laced finish.

The 2009 “Museum Release” Marsanne gives wonderfully mature notes of baked apples, lemon tart, toasted almonds and tatami mats with hint of chalk dust. Light-bodied, it fills the palate with almond and toast laced preserved citrus notes, finishing with very good persistence.

Showing appealing evolved characters on the nose, the 2008 Marsanne shows off notes of pear tart, allspice, fresh hay and baked almonds plus a touch of lanolin. The palate offers a very good, medium-bodied weight with some creaminess to the texture and marked by an excellent intensity of mature flavors before finishing with great length and balance. The 2007 Museum Release Marsanne gives notes of hay, toasted almonds and baking bread over a core of lemon curd, lime leaves and apple tart. The dry, light-bodied palate fills the mouth with evolving savory / nut and citrus fruit flavors, with a good backbone of lively acid, and finishes long. Drink this one now to 2017+.
