The 2019 Chardonnay Diamond T Vineyard features white peach and honeysuckle on the nose with nuances of roasted almonds and beeswax. The palate is medium-bodied, expansive and satiny with floral perfume and a long, spicy finish.

The 2018 Chardonnay Diamond T Vineyard has gregarious aromas of baked apples, banana, pie spice, toast and honey. The palate is medium-bodied and silky with ripe fruits and a long, creamy finish.

The 2017 Chardonnay Diamond T Vineyard, barrel fermented and aged ten months in 40% new French oak, is scented of toast, lime peel, baked apples, honeysuckle and hay with notes of crushed almonds and stone. Medium to full-bodied, the palate explodes with ripe fruits, lifted by tangy acidity and finishing long and full of energy. This is very different than the rest of the lineup—still ripe and luscious but incredibly energetic, focused and laser-like.

The 2015 Chardonnay Diamond T Estate has exuberant tropical note of guava, pineapple and green mango with touches of baking bread, beeswax, allspice and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, with a lively acid line defining the silken-textured, intensely tropical palate, it finishes with lovely chalk and citrus layers.

The 2014 Chardonnay Diamond T Vineyard (a small 15-acre vineyard in Monterey) is a cool, windy site with the vineyard planted in sandy soils that are also rich in calcium. This tends to be a higher-acid wine, with this vintage finished at just over 14% alcohol and aged similar to its sibling with ten months in French oak, of which 30% was new. The wine is crisp, zesty and more like a Premier Cru Chablis, as the acids are noticeable, but the wine refreshing, medium-bodied and cleanly made. Drink it over the next several years.
