Signed by Tommaso Roberto Cavalli on the front label, the Tenuta degli Dei 2020 Le Redini is mostly Merlot (90%) with a small part of Alicante. The wine opens to dark intensity and a velvety texture with lots of fresh blackberry, plum, earth and wild rose. This hot vintage has shaped a soft and easy-drinking red with the freshness to pair with oven-roasted pasta or lasagna. Some 35,000 bottles were released.

This is a blend of Merlot with a small part Alicante Bouschet. The Tenuta degli Dei 2018 Le Redini reveals dark fruit and pressed cherry with a long and silky mouthfeel that wraps softly over the palate. The wine delivers good endurance and length and you have the power and textural richness here to pair with a beef bourguignon.

The 2016 Le Redini (90% Merlot and 10% Alicante) is a bright and exuberant wine that is loaded tight with energy and freshness. The wine shows a dark, inky appearance, yet it proves buoyant and mid-weight in terms of texture. Dark cherry, blackberry and fresh plum rise to the top. You can taste that spicy freshness from the Merlot planted in a cool, high-altitude position.

Made with Merlot and a smaller part Alicante, the 2015 Le Redini opens to an exuberant, fruit-laced presentation. This is a plump and juicy Tuscan red that is packed tight with ripe cherry, blackberry and more sweet fruit at the back. The wine finishes with bright acidity and deep freshness. It is aged in oak for ten months. This is a great near-term red to drink with family and friends on informal occasions.

Offering excellent value, the 2014 Le Redini is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Alicante (aged in oak for ten months). The wine is rich and smooth with soft layers of rich berry and blackberry. Those fruity Merlot characteristics are backed by distant spice and savory notes from the Alicante. This is a surprisingly steady interpretation from a difficult vintage. I would suggest drinking this wine within the next five years.
