The 2006 Proprietary Red La Storia Cuvee 32 is a blend of 49% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petite Sirah, and 4% Montepulciano. Spicy, earthy aromas of new saddle leather, berry fruit, pepper, and forest floor are followed by a fleshy, round, seductive, complex, delicious red that should drink nicely for another 3-4 years. Trentadue is building up a pretty good track record with this old-fashioned, field blend-style wine. A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s ripely sweet in blackberry pie filling and mocha flavors, and while it’s soft in acids, the tannins are pretty and polished.
