The 2009 Malbec Gran Terroir spent 15 months in 30% new French barriques. Notions of cedar, brier, spice box, violets, and cherry cola set the stage for a lean, racy style of Malbec. In the glass it reveals good grip and savory fruit but is in need of greater depth and length. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. The Vina Agustinos wines are from the cool region of Bio Bio located 500 km south of Santiago and 50 km from the coast with a significant influence from the sea.Importer: JW Deutsch & Son, White Plains, NY; tel.
