Compared to the estate wine, the 2022 Weissburgunder Reserve is the more international-styled Pinot Blanc of the domaine. Intense but elegant, with initially minty-scented sur lies aromas and mineral notes on the nose, this is a full-bodied, rich and creamy but elegant and refined Pinot Blanc with fine tannins, a vibrantly mineral soul and fresh lemon notes in the aftertaste. Aged in halbstücks (with some percentage of new oak), this should be, especially after some years in the bottle, a Siefersheim Pinot Blanc rather than a Burgundy from western Rheinhessen. 13% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted in January 2024.
