The 2021 Aulerde Riesling GG offers a deep, spicy, refined and very elegant bouquet with ripe fruit and finely flinty as well as phenolic nuances. Lush and savory on the palate, this is a very elegant and harmonious Aulerde with fine acidity and stimulating salinity and lots of refreshing grip on the pure and crisp finish. This is a classic in the making that needs another three to five years in the bottle, but it can also be enjoyed today. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.

The 2019 Aulerde Riesling GG is enormously chalky and flinty on the rich and spicy yet pure, refreshing, deep and fruity nose. Silky textured, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a complex, structured, very elegant and juicy but linear and persistently mineral dry Riesling with remarkable purity and tension. The tension and grip of the 2019s offer impressive proof that Wittmann more and more manages to make the Aulerde a real Grosses Gew?chs. However, the distance to the exceptional Westhofener 1G is smaller than to the Morstein GG.

The 2018 Aulerde Riesling GG is very clear and fine on the nose. The palate is precise, refined and elegant, yet it's not as complex as the 2017. Tasted at the domaine in March 2020.

Lemon cream flavors and hints of clove and cardamom mark this well-knit dry Riesling, which combines power and elegance. Shows plenty of structure to balance the expressive palate, with a disarming clarity that belies the concentration. The 2017 Aulerde Riesling GG is clear, intense and concentrated on the nose, with super ripe and clear peach aromas and the purity of a flinty terroir. Intense, pure and salty on the palate, this is a concentrated and juicy Riesling with remarkable elegance, finesse and salty length. Impressive. Tasted in March 2020.
