Aged in 100% new French oak hogsheads for 24 months, the 2009 Shiraz Reserve has a deep purple-black color and very pronounced aromas of blackberry preserves, creme de cassis, licorice, tar, potpourri and sandalwood with nuances of camphor and cloves. Very densely packed with layers of dark fruit, preserved berry and baking spice flavors, the structure is solid with firm tight-knit tannins and high acid. The finish is very long. Consider drinking this from 2014 to 2024+. Note that as in 2008, no Duck Muck was produced in 2009.Importer: Rathbone Wine Imports, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 253-8332; www.fsfw.com.au
