There is one more step in precision and clarity in the 2022 Reserva Malbec, which is serious, varietal and ripe without excess at 14.5% alcohol and with good freshness and balance. It's nicely textured, with some grip and integrated oak, fine tannins and an overall sensation of being fine-boned and textured. 800,000 bottles produced. These are quite stable and the heart of Santa Julia.

I tasted the 2021 Reserva Malbec next to the 2022, the same as with the other reds in the Reserva Range, and it was interesting to see how, despite being similar years, the 2022s have a little more precision. This is what Santa Julia is about—fruit and varietal character with freshness, balance and moderate oak. Here, 20% of the volume matured in used French oak barrels for 10 months, and the rest was kept in stainless steel. 800,000 bottles.

The 2020 Reserva Malbec is slightly riper and more tannic (it's also younger) than the 2019. It has juiciness, tannic structure and complexity, but in a simple way. It's clean and direct. 800,000 bottles.

Looking for a juicy, fruit-driven and fresh personality, the 2019 Reserva Malbec follows the line of the 2018, with fruit from the Valle de Uco and very little oak. But it has some complexity in a very approachable style, with bright fruit and a tender texture. 800,000 bottles produced.

2018 is a very good vintage in the Valle de Uco, and the 2018 Reserva Malbec is produced with grapes from there. The Reserva range saw a big change with the 2015 vintage, especially in the oaking. Only a small percentage of the volume of this wine ages in well-seasoned oak barrels, no more than 10% to 15%, and the wine comes through as juicy and fruit driven, fresh, with bright fruit and a tender palate. They produce some 930,000 bottles of this Reserva.
