This 100% Merlot is a good effort in 2013, but a tiny production. (Only 40% of what was produced in the previous year, 2012, was made.) Alcohol has hit a rather lofty 13.5%. The wine exhibits deep ruby/plum color, sweet berry fruit, sandy earthy notes, and a hint of minerality. Although the wine is medium-bodied, like so many 2013s, it is relatively superficial. Drink over the next 7-10 years.
