This wine has turned out well. The 1993 Rahoul reveals a healthy dark ruby/purple color, and a smoky, jammy, rich, black-cherry, and toasty-scented nose. Although the dense, powerful, concentrated flavors may lack complexity, that deficiency is compensated for by considerable intensity and power, as well as a supple, lightly tannic finish. If it is not overly processed at bottling, this medium-bodied, concentrated Graves could merit a score in the upper eighties. It should drink well for a decade.
