Last Tasted 8/92
Smart insiders know this is the Niellon wine to buy if you want grand cru quality at premier cru prices. Nearly as spectacular as his Batard-Montrachet, the Chassagne-Montrachet sells for about one-third the price. The 1985 offering reveals a huge, roasted nut, creamy, ripe nose, unctuous, rich, full-bodied flavors with just enough acidity to provide definition, and a stunningly rich, explosive finish. Fully mature, it should be drunk over the next 2-3 years.
