Loads of spices and a scent reminiscent of Louisiana steamed crawdads can be found in the nose of the 1999 Gewurztraminer Clos Windsbuhl. Medium-bodied and dense, this is a roasted, smoky wine, loaded with dense layers of spices and what can best be described as a beurre d'ecrevisse (crawfish butter) like flavor. This is an elegant, highly nuanced, and detailed wine for drinking over the next 7 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524
